Technical Class
Participants will be led through a series of “exercises” aimed at increasing the awareness of their body and steadily preparing them to more complexed movement patterns and challenging choreographic sequences (standing, across the floor and in/out of the floor).
The focus will also be placed on the anatomy of movement and physiology (for example connection head/sacrum) and on body in space. The cardiovascular system of the participants will be stimulated through a series of repetitive sequences with increase of speed and fluidity. The participants will also be invited to work on increasing their flexibilty with stretches and simple yoga practice; Strength will be addressed through simple body work exercises.
The aim of integrating diverse but complementary elements of Release & Limon technique, floor work, yoga practice and breath exercises is to focus on achieving technical excellence, increasing body/mind awareness, breath control and effective use of the energy flow. By combining floor work and dynamic standing sequences (all supported by the breath), the class stimulates the cardiovascular system and increases stamina.
Motto: Through a structured, high paced and technical contemporary class, dancers are invited to find power, energy and quality of movements in relaxation.
Improvisation / Composition Workshop
“A choreographer´s toolbox: addressing emotional states and their physical manifestations”
This workshop is inspired by the creative method devised by les Ballets C de la B and their self described
“bastard dance”. At the core of the workshop is an exploration of humanity and of the deep & profound
emotions that characterize that humanity.

Structure: The participants are invited to investigate separately several physical states (the container or
shell) and emotional states (the content) through a free-form method of open-ended improvisation. Additional
informations are then introduced in order to seek how to combine different “container” and “content” into a
theatre context. Feedbacks and discussion session are led after each improvisation to evaluate and to share
the participants thoughts and feelings on the proposed tasks.
Aim:
– Observing how emotions influence the reactive body and its physical vocabulary (and vice versa)
– Witnessing how both the emotional and physical bodies are intertwined and how they interact with/on each
other
– Identifying the physical manifestations of specific emotions
– Exploring specific physical register (such as bouncing, twitching, shaking)
– Generating movement from different stimuli, either physical, emotional or theatrical
– Diversifying one´s own creative palette and enriching one´s colors range
